Required Skills: •Develops detailed and accurate work packages for mechanical maintenance, fabrication, and repair tasks •Creates weld maps, weld procedure specifications (WPS), and supporting technical drawings for individual components, sub-assemblies, and full assemblies •Produces clear, actionable technical sketches and markup drawings to support field execution •Coordinates sequencing of work activities, resource allocation, and material procurement to ensure efficient project execution •Understands pipe cleanliness requirements, including flushing, cleaning procedures, and contamination prevention protocols for various service classifications •Familiar with material specifications for metals (carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steels, non-ferrous metals) and their properties, compatibility, and service limitations •Solid functional working knowledge of fastener standards (e.g., ASTM, ASME) including proper grade selection, torque specifications, and bolted joint assembly requirements •Awareness of governing codes and standards from organizations such as ASME, ASTM, AWS, ANSI, and MSS Qualifications: •HS (or Equiv) and 5-7 years of Electrical and/or Mechanical Maintenance experience. •Must be able to qualify as an SRNL Planner within one year once hired. •Knowledgeable in additional piping codes and their application to mechanical work planning •Strong working knowledge of design, fabrication, inspection, and testing requirements. •Extensive working knowledge of welding processes (e.g., GTAW, SMAW, GMAW, FCAW) and their appropriate applications based on material type, joint design, and service conditions •Proficient in machining processes including turning, milling, boring, grinding, and precision finishing operations •Understands pre-heat, post-weld heat treatment (PWHT), and non-destructive examination (NDE) requirements as they relate to work planning. •Capable of reading and interpreting P&IDs, isometric drawings, general arrangement drawings, and engineering specifications Interested candidates, please apply directly through the job posting on company's career page or try via AI auto apply on this platform.
