Hiring: West Coast Sales Engineer Company: Harbinger Location: Garden Grove, CA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 10:36:16 Target Skills & Keywords : Regulatory Compliance About the job Experience: •10+ years of experience in commercial vehicles, upfitting, body equipment, fleet solutions, or related fields •3+ years of systems engineering experience is a plus Required Skills: •The Sales Engineer will serve as the technical-commercial bridge between our customers, dealers, sales teams, engineering, and external upfit partners—ensuring every vehicle is delivered with the right body, equipment, and configuration based on Harbinger’s specifications and customer needs. •This person will be the internal expert on upfit compatibility, application mapping, and configuration guidance—helping customers and dealers confidently select the right solution while ensuring feasibility, compliance, and scalability. •Serve as the primary upfit subject-matter expert for customers and dealer partners •Consult with customers to understand use cases, duty cycles, and operational requirements •Recommend appropriate upfit solutions that align with Harbinger vehicle specs and performance parameters which includes providing technical guidance on how to power their hotel loads. •Support sales teams with technical guidance during the sales process •Provide battery integration guidance for upfits that wish to install the Harbinger stand alone battery pack. •Define and maintain approved upfit configurations, compatibility guidelines, and best practices Qualifications: •6–10+ years of experience in commercial vehicles, upfitting, body equipment, fleet solutions, or related fields •Capable of opening 3D files and viewing them •In-depth knowledge of upfits such as box bodies, service bodies, refrigeration units, liftgates, cranes, racks, specialty equipment, etc. •Demonstrated capacity to translate technical requirements into clear customer-facing guidance •Strong project management and stakeholder coordination skills •Excellent written and verbal communication •Operational familiarity with vehicle integration, electrical systems, weight distribution, and load constraints •Prior experience supporting enterprise or fleet customers •Customers receive the right upfit the first time—reducing rework, delays, and confusion Compensation: •$120,000 - $150,000 / year •Comprehensive Health, Dental & Vision (HDV) – 100% employee covered Interested candidates, please apply directly through the job posting on company's career page or try via AI auto apply on this platform.
