Required Skills: •Responsible for the programming, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) utilized in water and sewer infrastructure. This position requires advanced expertise in PLC systems to ensure the reliability and efficiency of our water and sewer operations. •Program, configure, and maintain PLC systems used in water production and wastewater treatment plant applications. •Partner cross-functionally with engineers and technicians to design, implement, and optimize PLC-based control systems for various water and sewer processes. •Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on PLC hardware and software to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance. •Troubleshoot PLC malfunctions, identify root causes of issues, and implement corrective actions in a timely manner. •Utilize diagnostic tools and software to analyze PLC performance data and identify opportunities for improvement. •Develop and update PLC documentation, including wiring diagrams, ladder logic programs, and operating manuals. •Provide technical support and training to department staff on PLC operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance practices. Qualifications: •Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical education in electrical engineering, automation, industrial electronics, or a related field is required. •Must possess a valid Driver's License Class C at time of placement. •Flexibility to respond to emergency situations and work outside of regular business hours when necessary. •Knowledge of and proficiency in PLC programming languages (e.g., ladder logic, function block diagrams) and software (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens). •Knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control principles related to water and sewer infrastructure. •Demonstrated capacity to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications for PLC installations and modifications.
