Required Skills: •This position does not exercise supervision. •Perform preventative maintenance on 5/8” to 2” water metering devices and associated infrastructure to ensure their accuracy and reliability. •Investigate customer complaints related to the accuracy and integrity of 5/8” to 2” water metering devices and their associated infrastructure. •Perform water service turn off and/or turn on for individual accounts at the meter. •Investigate and take appropriate action at the meter location to prevent illegal water usage. •Record locations and details of all work performed. •Communicate effectively with other employees, customers and supervisors the nature and status of work being performed. •Operate a City vehicle daily to travel to various worksites . Qualifications: •Perform other job related duties and responsibilities as assigned. •Basic principles of positive displacement, ultrasonic and electromagnetic water flow meters. •Basic plumbing tools, practices and procedures. •Safe driving principles and practices. •Safely operate and care for all tools, vehicles, equipment and materials. •Safeguard and effectively use assigned information technology equipment in the field. •Operate a motor vehicle safely. •Pay attention-to-detail when performing general maintenance work. •Accomplish required tasks at their minimum acceptable rate for this position. •Communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in written reports.
