Axon - Scottsdale, AZ

Hiring: VP of Professional Services Company: Axon Location: Scottsdale, AZ Job Posted Time: 2026-09-16 19:43:03 Target Skills & Keywords : AWS, AutoCAD, CAD, Data Pipeline, Databricks, ELT, ETL, Event-Driven, Fivetran, Foundry, Informatica, Python, R, SQL, Snowflake, Talend About the job Experience: •10+ years leading data engineering, integration, or migration teams, including 5+ years in a hands-on architecture, systems, programming, and/or build capacity. Required Skills: •Owns the technical architecture and execution strategy for data migrations, conversions, and integrations across Fusus, Records, Standards, Gravity, and Vision — replacing ad hoc, engagement-by-engagement approaches with reusable frameworks, connectors, and tooling. •Partners with Product to design and build a modern migration/integration platform — ETL/ELT pipelines, schema-mapping and transformation tooling, data quality/validation frameworks, reconciliation and rollback tooling — that can be configured per agency rather than rebuilt per agency. •Leads engineering and solution architecture teams responsible for legacy CAD/RMS data extraction, evidence and case data conversion, camera network/device integration (Fusus), and standards-based interoperability (e.g., NIEM, NIBRS, CJIS-compliant data exchange). •Establishes common data mapping, transformation, and validation standards across products so a single integration pattern can serve Records, Standards, Fusus, Gravity, evidence migrations and Vision instead of five bespoke pipelines. •Partners closely with Product and R&D to build, influence, and execute roadmap changes so migration/integration complexity is designed into new products rather than absorbed downstream by services. •Defines and enforces data governance, security, and chain-of-custody requirements for sensitive public safety and criminal justice data throughout migration and integration workflows. •Builds a clear build-vs-buy point of view on migration/integration tooling — evaluating platforms such as Informatica, MuleSoft, Fivetran, Databricks/Snowflake, Palantir Foundry, and Boomi — and makes the call on what to build in-house vs. license. •Establishes KPIs for migration/conversion velocity, data quality, defect rates, and time-to-go-live, and drives them down systematically. Qualifications: •Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent hands-on experience) •Demonstrated experience designing and building data migration/conversion platforms or frameworks at scale •Not just running individual migration projects •Deep technical fluency in ETL/ELT design, data modeling, schema mapping, API-based and event-driven integration patterns, and data quality/validation frameworks •Operational familiarity with AI/ML-assisted data mapping, entity resolution, or automated schema inference to accelerate conversion work •Direct experience with one or more enterprise data integration/migration platforms (e.g., Informatica, MuleSoft, Fivetran, Talend, Databricks, Snowflake, Palantir Foundry, Boomi, SnapLogic, Workato, AWS Glue/DMS) •Strong SQL and data pipeline scripting ability (Python or equivalent); technical enough to personally review architecture and code-level decisions, not just manage the people who make them •Proven ability to build and scale technical teams, including hiring and developing data/integration engineers and solution architects •Excellent written and verbal communication; able to translate deep technical tradeoffs for executive, sales, and customer audiences Interested candidates, please apply directly through the job posting on company's career page or try via AI auto apply on this platform.
