Hiring: Vice President, US Tax Company: RBC Location: Jersey City, NJ Job Posted Time: 2026-09-03 07:42:05 Employment Type: Full-time About the job Required Skills: •Leadership and Strategic Tax Advisory •Lead and mentor a highly skilled US tax team, implementing best practices and fostering a culture that balances autonomy with accountability •Partner strategically with RBC's US businesses—including Capital Markets, Wealth Management, City National Bank, and other platforms—to provide comprehensive tax support, risk management counsel, and advice that enables business growth and new product/business development •Drive development and implementation of US tax planning initiatives aligned with RBC's global tax strategies, optimizing shareholder value while ensuring full compliance with tax laws •Provide specialized tax counsel for M&A activity, corporate reorganizations, and financings related to US operations •Serve as a thought leader and fresh voice for the function: identify opportunities to enhance operational effectiveness, collaborate with the government relations team, and represent RBC at tax-related organizations to advocate effectively for RBC's US tax interests •Compliance, Reporting, and Risk Management •Oversee all US tax compliance obligations across federal, state, and local jurisdictions (SALT), ensuring accurate and timely filing of all US tax returns, audit management, and effective tax risk management for all US businesses and activities Qualifications: •Operational familiarity with AI and automation opportunities in tax compliance and advisory functions •Background in governance, risk management, and control framework design •Knowledge of multi-jurisdictional tax planning strategies at large financial institutions •Track record of implementing process improvements or organizational transformations •Willingness and flexibility to travel to New York City, Los Angeles, and Toronto as needed to support the business •What’s in it for you? •We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
