Hiring: Turbo Machinery Manufacturing Engineer II, III, Sr. Company: Blue Origin Location: Huntsville, AL Job Posted Time: 2026-09-03 09:44:40 Target Skills & Keywords : Assembly, Confluence, Jira About the job Experience: •3+ years Level 2 Manufacturing Engineer, 5+ years Level 3 Manufacturing Engineer, 8+ years Sr Manufacturing Engineer) •1+ years of experience creating English work instructions Required Skills: •Contribute to design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), design for test (DFT), key to building reliable vehicles for space exploration. •Translate engineering requirements into robust, repeatable manufacturing processes that support Blue Origin’s mission. •Collaborate closely with design engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and production teams to accelerate building a road to space. •Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, tool designs, and inspection plans. •Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and methods (e.g., precision machining, welding, brazing, additive manufacturing, advanced assembly). •Support root cause analysis of process or product non-conformances; develop and implement corrective actions that enhance reliability and performance. •Ensure all work aligns with applicable quality and safety standards (AS9100, ISO 9001), supporting a safe and sustainable future in space. •Participate in process FMEAs, risk assessments, and validation of new production lines and equipment. Qualifications: •Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering (other relevant fields may apply) from an accredited university •Understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing including working knowledge of GD&T •Basic tooling or fixture design and fabrication •Strong organizational, project management, and presentation skills (Gantt charting, JIRA tickets, MS Project, Confluence, or similar) •Prior manufacturing engineering experience in aerospace or automotive •Applicants for employment at Blue Origin must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
