Hiring: Truck Driver Heavy Company: Akima Location: Anchorage, AK Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 13:33:03 Employment Type: Contract / Remote Target Skills & Keywords : Cargo, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office About the job Experience: •3–5 years of heavy truck driving experience; prior Army or contractor logistics experience preferred. •Operational familiarity with military or government cargo movement highly desirable. •Army transportation regulations: AR 55-355, AR 710-2, DTR 4500.9-R. •Army forms and documentation requirements for vehicle/equipment movement. Required Skills: •Operate heavy trucks, tractor-trailers, and flatbeds to transport vehicles, equipment, and Class IX materiel. •Support equipment turn-in operations by hauling assets from Army units to the site or designated locations. •Assist with loading, securing, and unloading cargo using chains, binders, straps, and blocking/bracing. •Conduct local and long-haul missions in compliance with Army movement requirements and DTR 4500.9-R. •Perform Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) before, during, and after operations. •Report deficiencies and coordinate repairs in accordance with Army and company maintenance procedures. •Maintain driver logs, trip tickets, fuel records, and inspection sheets. •Ensure proper completion of shipping and transport documents (DD Form 1348-1A, DD Form 626, DD Form 836, TCMDs, bills of lading). Qualifications: •Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL – Class A or B as required). •Army OF 346 military driver’s license preferred (may be obtained on-site). •HAZMAT endorsement (preferred/required if hauling hazardous materials).
