Location: Spokane, WA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-11 15:04:15 Employment Type: Full-time Target Skills & Keywords : Project Management About the job Required Skills: •Serve as project manager for roadway, bridge, freeway, highway corridor, interchange, and other transportation planning and design projects. •Lead projects from contract development and kickoff through final delivery and construction support. •Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, work plans, and risk-management strategies. •Monitor project financial performance, including earned value, invoicing, accounts receivable, budget forecasting, and profitability. •Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams and subconsultants to deliver integrated, high-quality work products. •Maintain clear and proactive communication with clients, agency partners, project teams, and other stakeholders. •Anticipate project challenges, evaluate alternatives, and lead the team in developing practical and timely solutions. •Ensure deliverables meet contractual requirements, applicable design standards, client expectations, and DEA’s quality-management requirements. Qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. •Professional Engineer licensure, with current or obtainable registration in both Idaho and Washington within six months of hire. •Fifteen or more years of transportation engineering experience, including at least three years serving as a project manager or design lead. •Demonstrated experience managing transportation projects for public agencies. •Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate effectively across technical disciplines. •Strong written, verbal, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. •Sound engineering judgment and the ability to guide technical teams through complex project decisions. •Proven ability to develop trusted client relationships and deliver a high level of client service. •Commitment to quality, accountability, collaboration, and staff development. •Established project experience and relationships with local agencies, the Local Highway Technical Assistance Council, the Idaho Transportation Department, and/or the Washington State Department of Transportation.
