Hiring: Training Specialist Company: Compass Connections Location: San Antonio, TX Job Posted Time: 2026-09-12 14:01:38 Employment Type: Full-time About the job Experience: •Meet all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards that are applicable to this position. •Provide release and home study staff relevant training that meets agency, licensing, and contract requirements and the individual needs of each staff. •Consistently provide and update training for state and federally funded programs, community services and other stakeholders. •Develop, maintain, and distribute a staff training calendar that provides staff numerous opportunities for development including evening and overnight shifts. •Maintain a staff training database that provides monthly and quarterly reports related to training and the impact of training on program practices and outcomes. Required Skills: •Establish and implement a training strategy and goals for the post release and home study programs. •Develop and continually update program training manuals and materials. •Frequently travel from one location to another inclusive of distances greater than 50 miles from home office. •Meet all deadlines required by program supervisor and federal partners. •Foster Care Programs - Support, encourage, and recruit foster parents. Qualifications: •Fluency in English and Spanish is required. •Required – Bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences, human services or social services; Preferred – Master’s degree in behavioral sciences, human services, or social services fields •First aid, CPR, Emergency behavior intervention •Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens throughout employment. •Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request. •Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks. •Respond sensitively and competently to the service population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics. •Work collaboratively with other staff members, service providers and professionals. •Organize and prioritize responsibilities and duties efficiently. •Work in a fast-paced environment and maintain emotional control and professional composure at all times.
