The incumbent installs electrical service equipment for traffic signal control devices. •Erects new signal poles by using a derrick digger to bore holes in the ground for setting wood poles and building concrete foundations for steel poles. The incumbent uses bucket trucks for installing span wire between poles to support signals, signs, and various cables. •Lashes various sizes of electrical control cable to spans for connecting signals to control equipment. •Installs telephone cables and fiber optic cables to provide communications within DOTD and for other state agencies. •Utilizes electrical testing meters during testing and troubleshooting of electrical service and control circuits.
