Current information about the Center’s many programs and activities are available at  The Carter Center . •Management: Manages and oversees the operation, maintenance, repair, and long-term upkeep of building systems, grounds, and related services across multiple Carter Center properties. •Supervision: Supervises Maintenance Mechanics, Mail Clerk and Landscape Crew Leader. •Provides oversight, guidance, and training for in-house staff to meet the requirements of those positions and of the Center. •Determines staffing levels and skill sets required for all buildings and grounds staff. •Interior Maintenance: Manages requests from administrators and staff regarding maintenance, repairs, alterations (including painting), installations, material moves, transportation, mail distribution function, and custodial services, etc. •Determines appropriate action and plan, organize and assigns work to responsible staff. •Provides building maintenance information by answering questions and responding to requests. Qualifications: •An associate's degree in industrial management, horticulture, or a related field and eight years of building and grounds maintenance experience which includes two years in a supervisory role OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. •Valid Georgia driver's license and insurable driving record. •This position requires the ability to lift 50 pounds and to bend, stoop and twist. •Two-year Associate's Degree in industrial engineering, building construction or maintenance management, or equivalent. •Management and contract administration course is desirable. •Demonstrated capacity to work independently with general guidance. •Demonstrated capacity to learn computerized maintenance and inventory management system(s).
