Hiring: Test Engineer Company: OSI Optoelectronics Location: Hawthorne, CA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-16 19:15:14 Employment Type: Full-time Target Skills & Keywords : Assembly, C, C++, LabVIEW, MATLAB, Python, R About the job Experience: •30 years of combined experience in the field of optoelectronics our OSI Optoelectronics (OSIO) division is a diversified manufacturer of standard and custom photodiodes and optical sensors for used in aerospace, defense, commercial and medical applications. Required Skills: •Develop and implement new test methodologies, test specifications, and test systems for current and next-generation semiconductor products. •Introduce automated test solutions, including software, scripting, data acquisition, instrument integration, and automated reporting, to improve test efficiency, repeatability, and throughput. •Translate product requirements into comprehensive electrical, optical, functional, and reliability test specifications. •Lead systematic troubleshooting of complex test and product failures and identify root causes using structured engineering methodologies. •Establish robust failure-analysis and test-correlation methodologies to distinguish between product, process, equipment, and test-system-related failures. •Evaluate emerging test technologies, instrumentation, software platforms, and equipment and determine how they can be incorporated into our manufacturing environment. •Establish scalable test platforms and architectures that can support multiple products and future product requirements rather than relying primarily on product-specific or manual test solutions. •Utilize test data, statistical methods, and automated analysis to identify trends, improve test coverage, increase yield, and reduce test-related escapes. Qualifications: •B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Semiconductor Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline required. M.S. degree desired. •Demonstrated experience developing and executing electrical tests for semiconductor wafers, dies, and packaged devices needed. •Strong programming and scripting skills in Python, C/C++, LabVIEW, MATLAB, or similar languages, with the ability to develop automated test and data-analysis solutions are required. •Proven ability to troubleshoot complex problems involving semiconductor devices, test hardware, instrumentation, software, and measurement systems is a must. •Strong analytical and root-cause problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in a hands-on laboratory and manufacturing environment are essential. •Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills needed. •Please review our benefits here: Life at OSI •Pay may range from $116,000 to $120,000 annually •The pay range above represents annual base salary only. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as your job level, geographic location, date of hire, experience, job-related knowledge and skills, and education in conjunction with market and business considerations.
