Required Skills: •Teleoperation Leadership: Serve as the team's most skilled operator; take point on the hardest, highest-stakes manipulation and mobility tasks using VR headsets, specialized controllers, or haptic devices. •Team Development: Train, coach, and set quality standards for teleoperators; onboard new operators as the team grows. •Scheduling & Operations: Own shift/session scheduling for the teleoperations team, ensuring coverage and readiness — a direct report will join this role as the team scales. •Protocol Ownership: Define and refine operating and testing protocols; ensure consistency across sessions and operators. •Physical Skill Evaluation: Push robotic platforms to their limits; own reporting on dexterity, strength, and adaptability findings across simulated and real-world environments. •Cross-Functional Partnership: Be the primary point of contact between teleoperations and hardware/software/AI engineering; surface and help resolve robot ergonomics, control latency, and physical limitations. •Field & Lab Support: Oversee test environment setup and hardware management; support client-facing/field operations as needed, including travel. Qualifications: •1–2+ years of hands-on teleoperation or robot operation experience, or an equivalent high-precision technical/physical skill background. •Demonstrated ability to lead, train, or mentor others in a technical or physical-skill environment. •Exceptional hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, and fine motor skills. •Technical aptitude with hardware, basic computer troubleshooting, and terminal or robotics interfaces. •Strong communication skills — able to translate hands-on physical feedback to engineering teams and give clear direction to operators. •Comfortable owning scheduling and day-to-day operational decisions in a fast-paced startup environment. •Operational familiarity with Linux environments, ROS/ROS2, or Python scripting. •Prior supervisory, shift-lead, or team-lead experience. •Background or interest in heavy industry, construction, or mechanical systems.
