Required Skills: •WORK LOCATION: San Luis Obispo, CA •The Systems Engineering Specialist I work under close supervision to assist systems engineers with requirements traceability, test planning support, verification evidence collection, interface documentation, engineering change coordination, and preparation of technical data packages. •The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties. •Support development, review, and maintenance of system requirements, subsystem requirements, and verification criteria under engineer guidance. •Assist with requirements traceability by updating matrices, tracking links between requirements and verification methods, and recording status in approved tools or templates. •Support verification and validation activities by preparing procedures, collecting objective evidence, recording results, and organizing test artifacts. •Assist engineers with system integration activities, including configuration setup, interface checks, test readiness preparation, and issue documentation. •Maintain technical documentation such as interface control documents, compliance matrices, configuration notes, test reports, and systems engineering review materials. Qualifications: •High school diploma or GED required. •Coursework, certification, or training in systems engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, robotics, mechatronics, or a related technical discipline preferred. •0–2 years of experience supporting systems engineering, technical documentation, test execution, integration activities, aerospace systems, robotics, embedded systems, or related technical projects. •Exposure to requirements tools, configuration management systems, test documentation, interface documentation, or engineering change processes is a plus. •Basic understanding of systems engineering concepts such as requirements, interfaces, verification, validation, traceability, and configuration control. •Demonstrated capacity to organize technical information, follow structured engineering processes, and maintain accurate records. •Operational familiarity with Microsoft Office tools and basic engineering collaboration tools for tracking tasks, documents, and review comments. •Demonstrated capacity to read and interpret basic technical drawings, specifications, procedures, data sheets, or engineering documents. •Comfortable working with multidisciplinary technical systems that may include hardware, software, electrical, mechanical, networking, and test components. •Strong attention to detail and consistency in following structured test procedures.
