Hiring: SVP, Supply Chain Company: Xcel Energy Location: Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul Area Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 11:44:31 Target Skills & Keywords : Accessibility, Digital Transformation, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Compliance, Risk Management, Transformers About the job Required Skills: •Capital program execution & strategic sourcing •Translate the ~$60B multi-year capital plan into a sourcing and supplier-capacity strategy that secures long-lead equipment — transformers, switchgear, turbines, conductor, and battery storage — and EPC and contractor capacity well ahead of need. •Lead strategic supplier partnerships and capacity-reservation arrangements with critical OEMs and EPC partners to convert plan into execution certainty. •Drive standardization of equipment and specifications as a core lever for cost, schedule, and constructability across the program. •Structure EPC and construction contracting strategies that balance risk-sharing, schedule assurance, and total cost of ownership. •Manage exposure to tariffs (including Section 232), trade policy, and global commodity volatility across the capital portfolio. •Supply chain strategy, governance & operating model •Set enterprise supply chain and fleet strategy aligned to business and regulatory goals, and design a future-proof, scalable operating model that adapts to load growth and market shifts. Qualifications: •Has led enterprise procurement and logistics for a division or enterprise generating at least $5B in revenue; expert in strategic sourcing, category strategy, vendor economics, supplier management, procure-to-pay, and total cost of ownership. •Proven delivery of large-scale capital procurement supporting multi-year, multi-billion-dollar capital programs in a capital-intensive, multi-site, regulated environment (utilities, energy infrastructure, or industrial manufacturing). •Track record of driving a step-change in supply chain performance through people, process, and technology — including the deployment of analytics, AI, and modern procurement systems. •Operational familiarity with nuclear or other safety-critical supply chains and a heightened regulatory environment is preferred but not required. •Supply chain strategy & governance; capital & operational procurement; fleet, logistics & inventory optimization; nuclear and safety-critical supply chains; and data-driven, AI-enabled decision-making. •Leadership Capabilities & Culture •Shape enterprise strategy: Anticipates market shifts and connects supply chain to growth, capital, and risk decisions; brings foresight and judgment to ambiguous, fast-moving situations. •Inspire, influence & communicate: Leads with clarity, credibility, and executive presence; builds trust with senior leaders, operating teams, the bargaining workforce, and external partners. •Drive performance & accountability: Sets clear expectations, prioritizes what matters, and drives disciplined execution — balancing ambition with financial rigor and risk management. •Navigate change & complexity: Leads with resilience through transformation, innovation, and evolving regulatory contexts, adapting approach while holding focus on enterprise outcomes.
