Hiring: Staff QA Engineer - Cinema Imaging Company: Dolby Laboratories Location: San Francisco, CA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-02 17:58:50 Employment Type: Full-time Target Skills & Keywords: QA Strategy, Cinema Imaging, Test Leadership, Hardware Labs, Projectors, Cinema Servers, Networking, Picture Quality Validation, Video Path Validation, AI-Assisted QA, Interoperability Testing, Performance Testing, Regression Testing, Defect Triage, Root-Cause Investigation Experience: - Senior test leadership experience for next-generation cinema imaging products and integrated theatrical systems - Proven ownership of test strategy, planning, lab readiness, system configuration, execution, risk assessment, and release-quality reporting - Experience leading QA strategy and end-to-end test ownership for high-priority products from early development through release readiness - Technical leadership across multiple concurrent programs - Experience serving as a key technical interface with external hardware partners Required Skills: - Designing, setting up, configuring, documenting, and maintaining cinema hardware labs and test environments involving projectors, cinema servers/integrated media blocks, network systems, measurement equipment, and supporting infrastructure - Hands-on functional, integration, system, interoperability, performance, reliability, upgrade, and regression testing on complex cinema systems - Developing comprehensive test plans, test cases, test matrices, and release criteria based on product requirements, architecture, technical risk, customer use cases, and field configurations - Picture-quality and video-path validation, including calibration, image evaluation, video playback, color processing, signal integrity, metadata handling, multi-projector configurations, and 3D imaging workflows - Configuring and troubleshooting complete cinema systems, isolating failures across hardware, firmware, software, networking, and content boundaries - Producing high-quality defect reports and leading defect triage, root-cause investigation, reproduction, and prioritization - Advancing practical AI-assisted QA tools to improve test efficiency and coverage - Communicating test status, coverage, defects, quality risks, dependencies, and schedule impacts to engineering and business stakeholders Qualifications: - Highly hands-on, with regular on-site work in hardware labs - Strong cross-company coordination and issue escalation skills with external projector and hardware partners - Ability to align on test standards, defect reproduction, and release readiness with partners - Excellent communication skills for engineering and business stakeholders Compensation: - Excellent compensation and benefits, including every other Friday off Interested candidates, please apply directly through the job posting on company's career page or try via AI auto apply on this platform.
