Hiring: Staff Accountant Company: SSAB Location: Pittsburgh, PA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-17 14:14:11 Target Skills & Keywords : Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, Microsoft PowerPoint, SAP About the job Experience: •3 – 4+ years of progressively responsible experience in the field of finance, accounting, forecasting and/or cost accounting •Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers, extremely organized •Excellent computer proficiency (SAP Business One (a plus), MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), including accounting software •Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service •Demonstrated capacity to work independently and as a team member to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices Required Skills: •Manage the accounts payable process; to include, invoice approval, entry, payments and reconciliations, and setting up of new vendors. •Monitor paid tariffs on imported material and ensure correct allocation and posting to general ledger. •Review all expense reports for accuracy and proper expense disclosure and classification. •Manage the monthly accrual process. •Perform intercompany reconciliations and payments. •Prepare financial statements, and ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures. •Prepare and post various journal entries. •Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
