Required Skills: •Include the following. Other duties and special projects may be assigned. •Prepares required daily, monthly and quarterly journal entries. •Prepares financial analysis, such as yield and variance analyses. •Explains accounting transactions and resolves accounting issues and discrepancies. •Reconciles sub-ledgers to the general ledger and resolves differences. Assists other departments with reconciliation differences. •Performs data validations and resolves differences. •Prepares accounting memos and/or position papers, citing applicable authoritative standards. •May have overall responsibility for the preparation of one or more financial statements or financial statement disclosures. Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of those disclosures in accordance with GAAP and completion of the applicable disclosure checklist. Qualifications: •Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required. •Must be able to work independently with limited supervision. •Must be proficient with accounting software applications, Excel and Word. •Candidates residing in locations within BankUnited's footprint may be given preference.
