Hiring: Sr Engineer Company: NextEra Energy Resources Location: Tallahassee, FL Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 13:28:35 Employment Type: Full-time / Remote About the job Experience: •4+ years of relevant experience Required Skills: •This is a remote position, with occasional travel to Juno Beach, FL as needed. •Provide technical expertise to all aspects of generation interconnection processes and operational requirements. •Create and validate PSSE, PSLF and PSCAD models for solar, wind and battery projects. •Perform and review steady state, dynamic, short circuit and other power system analyses for renewable facilities. •Monitor dynamically changing interconnection requirements from regional agencies and advise stakeholders on the expected impacts. •Perform assessment for compliance with IBR standards such as IEEE 2800, ERCOT NOGRR 245, PRC-029 and other similar requirements. •Ensure compliance with regional modeling requirements for new and existing generation projects. •Develop software tools that enhance system reliability and organizational efficiency. Qualifications: •Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field •In-depth knowledge of electrical engineering concepts such as power flow, stability, voltage regulation, reactive support etc. •Strong organizational and communication skills •Employees in this role are responsible for performing engineering assignments of a complex nature requiring the application of engineering skills. •Applies highly specialized knowledge in carrying out work •Provides technical support to lower level professionals •Performs other job-relate duties as assigned •Valid Driver's License (NON CDL) •NextEra Energy offers a wide range of benefits to support our employees and their eligible family members.
