Hiring: Specialist, Quality Engineering Company: L3Harris Technologies Location: North Amityville, NY Job Posted Time: 2026-09-03 11:25:19 Employment Type: Contract Target Skills & Keywords : Assembly, Defense Industry, Quality Assurance, Six Sigma About the job Experience: •4+ years Aerospace/Defense Industry experience •4+ years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints and a good working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Required Skills: •Interface with manufacturing, engineering, customer, and vendor representatives to ensure requirements are met. •Develop and implement program quality plans and procedures as needed. •Conduct contract review and flow down requirements to the supply chain and other functional groups. •Provide technical support and training to Inspection department and generate inspection plans as needed. •Analyze quality data for trends, investigate issues and develop corrective/preventive actions accordingly. Present out on findings accordingly to Internal and Executive Corrective Action Review Boards. •Actively facilitate and support material review board (MRB) and provide dispositions accordingly for nonconforming product, inlcuding communicating with customers for approvals as required. •Review and approve engineering specifications such as ATPs, drawings, models, manufacturing work instructions, and ensure adequacy, quality, and compliance to specification and contractual requirements. Make recommendations for updates as needed. •Support Design Reviews, Production Readiness Reviews, and other program interface meetings. Qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field and a minimum of 4 years of experience in quality engineering; OR an associate degree or 2 years of post-secondary education and a minimum of 8 years of experience in quality engineering; OR a graduate degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience in quality engineering. •4 years of experience in quality engineering; OR an associate degree or 2 years of post-secondary education and a minimum of 8 years of experience in quality engineering; OR a graduate degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience in quality engineering.
