Hiring: Special Mechanic - Welder Company: NJ TRANSIT Location: Washington, NJ Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 14:08:32 About the job Required Skills: •Must be able to solder, braze, gas weld steel, aluminum, cast iron, burn to size steel, and cast iron •Must be able to arc­ weld all metals with DC electric, AC electric, Mig, Tig, also can use a plasma cutter •Must know and use all safety rules and regulations during welding operations. •Must demonstrate ability in the proper use of tools, hydraulic pistons, come-a-longs, porta-powers, frame straightening devices, etc. •Must be able to remove, replace and or align all body parts and components that are fastened on the bus (MCI, NABI, NEW FLYER, and coaches) •Must be able to use and read parts manual and be able to fill out required forms •Must be able to complete daily time tickets accurately •Must keep area clean, uncluttered, and safe.
