Required Skills: •Own the Global API and unified platform, keeping the core infrastructure behind all our products reliable and well-documented. •Own the architecture of PORPay, our payments platform - processor integrations, plus the Job Costing and AR Communicator micro-apps built on top of it. •Lead and mentor a team of engineers, balancing technical guidance with day-to-day people management. •Stay hands-on in the codebase. This is not a pure-oversight role - you ship real code. •Own architectural review and design quality, including pull requests and in-flight designs. •Lead incident response and root-cause analysis for payments and API issues. These are revenue-critical services. •Strategically drive PCI compliance roadmap, plus AWS cost and observability for the platform. •Make agentic AI development tools part of how the team works daily, building reusable skills, sub-agents, and workflows instead of one-off prompting. Qualifications: •8+ years of professional software development experience, ideally including ownership of a shared API, integration layer, or platform used by multiple products or teams. •Strong, proactive communication skills. This role sits between multiple teams and requires someone engaged and clear in conversation. •Practical experience utilizing agentic AI coding tools, and genuine enthusiasm for pushing them further. •Proven experience managing or leading software engineers while staying hands-on technically, and •Readiness to step into people management from day one •Extensive experience with an RDBMS (MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, or similar), including comfort designing and revising ERDs on the spot. •Strong full-stack experience: back-end (Node, Python, .NET, PHP, or similar) and front-end SPA framework (Angular, Vue, React, or similar). •Experience designing and operating cloud services (AWS preferred), including ownership of cost and observability. •Practical experience utilizing payments systems or PCI compliance •CS/Math/Computer Engineering degree, or equivalent experience.
