Required Skills: •Annapurna Labs (U.S.), part of AWS, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in AI/ML and distributed training for AWS Neuron. The role focuses on developing, enabling, and performance-tuning distributed training solutions for large-scale machine learning models running on AWS Trainium and Inferentia accelerators. •Lead efforts to build distributed training support into PyTorch, the AWS Neuron compiler, and runtime stacks. •Enable distributed training strategies and optimize ML models for peak performance and efficiency on AWS custom silicon, including Trainium servers. •Develop and tune distributed training solutions for large-scale machine learning models and LLMs. •Interface directly with distributed training strategies including FSDP (Fully-Sharded Data Parallel), Pipeline Parallelism (PP), and Context Parallelism. •Develop and enable distributed training capabilities using frameworks and libraries such as torchtitan, torchtune, HF RL, and DeepSeek. •Support machine learning model families including GPT-OSS, Quen, Llama, Stable Diffusion, and Vision Transformers (ViT). •Work closely with chip architects, compiler engineers, and runtime engineers. Qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent. •5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience. •5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language. •5+ years of experience leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling. •5+ years of experience across the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. •Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent. •Software engineering expertise with PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow. •Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent is required. •Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent is preferred.
