Hiring: Software Engineer II - Backend Company: CoStar Group Location: Richmond, VA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-11 11:42:40 Employment Type: Full-time / On-site Target Skills & Keywords : .NET, AWS, Azure, C#, CI/CD, Databricks, Datadog, Docker, ETL, Elasticsearch, Event-Driven, GCP, GitHub, Go, Infrastructure as Code, Java, Kafka, Kibana, Kubernetes, Microservices, Node.js, OpenSearch, Python, REST, RabbitMQ, SQL, SQS, Serverless, TypeScript About the job Experience: •3+ years of professional experience in software development using strongly typed languages for server-side processing, such as C#, GoLang, Java or Node with TypeScript Required Skills: •Also help standardize how data moves across our billing systems to allow for greater visibility into patterns, errors and optimizations across a payments flow of billions of dollars a year. •This position is in Richmond, VA and has a work schedule of Monday through Thursday in office and Friday work from home. •Contribute to technical discussions and architectural decisions aligned with business goals •Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable back-end applications and APIs using the Microsoft .NET technology stack, SQL and other data tools •Champion maintainable, well-tested code and sound design: clear separation of concerns, loose coupling, and consistent use of established design patterns •Partner cross-functionally with engineering, product, DevOps and DBA teams to deliver production systems and participate in code reviews •Work from requirements through delivery, partnering with senior engineers and business stakeholders to turn business context into technical designs and development-ready specifications Qualifications: •Bachelor's degree required from an accredited, not-for-profit, in-person college/university •Track Record of committment to prior employers •Strong experience with relational databases, including database design and performance optimization •In-depth knowledge of CI/CD principles, infrastructure as code, automated deployment pipelines, and source control systems •Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and excellent communication skills •Exposure to serverless computing and event-driven architecture, including but not limited to RabbitMQ, SQS, Kafka, or Azure Service Bus •Operational familiarity with microservices architecture, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP •Operational familiarity with observability tools like Kibana, Datadog and other monitoring frameworks •Databricks, Python or other ETL processing experience •Payments or financial systems experience a plus Compensation: •$108,000 - $140,000 / year •401(k) retirement plan with matching contributions Interested candidates, please apply directly through the job posting on company's career page or try via AI auto apply on this platform.
