Hiring: Software Asset Manager Company: Space Dynamics Laboratory Location: North Logan, UT Job Posted Time: 2026-09-16 11:43:26 Employment Type: Contract / Remote Target Skills & Keywords : Portfolio Management, Project Management, Security Clearance, Vendor Management About the job Experience: •10+ years of experience in IT roles, including experience with software asset management, IT asset management, enterprise software management, vendor management, or related responsibilities •15+ years of experience in IT roles •5+ years of experience in Software Asset Management, IT Asset Management, software portfolio management, vendor management, or related responsibilities Required Skills: •Manages SDL’s enterprise Software Asset Management processes across Corporate and NEXCIS environments •Maintains enterprise visibility of SDL’s software portfolio, including ownership, approval status, licensing, utilization, cost, support, renewals, and lifecycle status •Serves as the central Information Systems focal point for software requirements and approvals, coordinating appropriate technical, cybersecurity, architecture, licensing, procurement, financial, legal, and operational reviews •Ensures software evaluations consider existing enterprise capabilities, cybersecurity, licensing, infrastructure requirements, interoperability, supportability, total lifecycle cost, and long-term sustainability •Manages software throughout its lifecycle from requirement and approval through acquisition, sustainment, renewal, modernization, and retirement, identifying lifecycle risks, technical debt, dependencies, and required actions •Maintains accurate software licensing, entitlement, subscription, maintenance, and renewal information and ensures licensing compliance and audit readiness •Monitors software utilization and coordinates audits, true-ups, renewals, and reconciliations to identify compliance risks and optimization opportunities •Coordinates software vendor and contract activities, including renewals, maintenance agreements, licensing changes, vendor performance, and contract support Qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an additional 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree •Demonstrated ability to work directly with engineers, administrators, cybersecurity professionals, and other technical teams in complex IT environments •Solid functional working knowledge of enterprise software, infrastructure, systems administration, cybersecurity, cloud, and related IT environments •In-depth knowledge of software asset management principles, including software approvals, licensing, utilization, support, lifecycle management, compliance, and retirement •Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex software requirements and activities across technical and non-technical organizations and drive them to successful outcomes •Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate software utilization, licensing requirements, costs, supportability, lifecycle risks, and business value •Excellent written and verbal communication skills; with the ability to drive clarity and accountability across technical and non-technical audiences •Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple concurrent priorities, requirements, approvals, renewals, and lifecycle activities without losing rigor or quality •Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance •Valid CompTIA Security+ certification (or equivalent) is required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire Compensation: •$104,000 - $142,000 / year •Flexible work environment (work from home / hybrid options) •Competitive benefits and rewards package Interested candidates, please apply directly through the job posting on company's career page or try via AI auto apply on this platform.
