Required Skills: •Works with department staff, cross-functionally, and with grantees in support of state and federal grant administration/contracts to ensure program effectiveness and compliance. •Provides leadership, social science expertise, and guidance in support of the Illinois Learning Standards for Social Science and diversity, equity, and inclusivity initiatives. •Supports the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) and other educational agencies as it pertains to the establishment, development, and review of social science materials, resources, assessments, and instructional support services. •Serves as Agency social science liaison in support of the Illinois Learning Standards for Social Science. •Works to integrate the social science standards with equity and inclusivity initiatives. •Continually reviews and upgrades the strategic plan for social science rigor and provides leadership and technical assistance in social science curriculum alignment, assessment, and resources. •Develops and writes requests for proposals. •Prepares and reviews grant and/or contract reports. Qualifications: •Master's degree in Education, or, a Bachelor's degree in Education plus two years of teaching experience. (COPY OF TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION) •Current Illinois Professional Educator License and Social Science Endorsement. •Two years of teaching experience (in addition to education requirements) in K-12 schools and/or administrative experience at the K-12 level. •Knowledge and understanding of the Illinois Learning Standards for Social Science. •Understanding of research based instructional practices and data driven performance. •Demonstrated capacity to effectively communicate both in written communication and verbally. •Demonstrated capacity to set project timelines and meet deadlines. •Grant management and/or budget experience.
