Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 11:17:08 Employment Type: Full-time Target Skills & Keywords : Ansible, Apache, DNS, Linux, Load Balancing, PKI, Program Management, Puppet, Python, Red Hat About the job Experience: •Bachelor’s degree and at least 7 - 10+ years of experience (additional experience may be substituted for the degree) •10+ years of experience (additional experience may be substituted for the degree) Required Skills: •In support of the Army Research Laboratory DoW Supercomputing Resource Center (ARL-DSRC), BAE Systems provides program management and technical support necessary to advance services, capabilities, infrastructure, and technologies. •BAE Systems is seeking a SME Linux Administrator to lead a team of administrators with standard Linux system administration duties at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. •Setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space. •Developing and monitoring policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. •Participating in the installation, integration, acceptance testing, and on-going maintenance of our HPC systems and software environment. •Assisting with forecast resource limitations and provide recommendations for increasing the efficiency of our resources through proper scheduling and load balancing techniques. •Lead a team of five System Administrators of various skill-sets including prioritizing work loads, representing team during status calls, and promoting growth among your direct reports. •Willingness to occasionally work after hours and/or respond to emergency situations for problem resolution Qualifications: •The selected candidate will perform standard Linux System Administration duties as required to maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems consisting of Linux based application and license servers, virtual machines, and cluster based systems.
