Hiring: Shift Scheduler Company: SSAB Location: Montpelier, IA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-11 15:14:12 About the job Experience: •Minimum of 3 years of steel industry experience •Familiarity of SSAB’s order processing and quality systems •Strong mathematical and analytical skills •Excellent verbal and written communication skills •Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft suite Required Skills: •Schedule all accepted orders in a manner that promotes efficient equipment utilization, minimizes inventories and meets customer delivery requirements •Communicate schedules in a timely manner to all operating departments •Generation and distribution of daily production and inventory reports •Ensure proper sequencing of work roll campaigns with coordinators •Verify sequences are lined up in order to cast on-time to meet rolling objectives •Coordinate with operations personnel to ensure slabs are sequenced properly for slab casting, rolling and plate stacking requirements •Assist order expeditor by providing slabs to meet change requests •Review scheduled slabs to ensure most current orders are scheduled with consideration to order backlog and slab yields Qualifications: •Manufacturing operations planning and inventory management experience •Knowledge of SSAB’s products, production processes, scheduling practices and systems •High school diploma or GED/HSE equivalent •Associate's and/or Bachelor's degree in relevant field Interested candidates, please apply directly through the job posting on company's career page or try via AI auto apply on this platform.
