Hiring: Service Technician - VFD Company: Ambient Location: Pine Brook, NJ Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 13:03:48 Employment Type: On-site Target Skills & Keywords : Assembly About the job Experience: •5+ years of hands-on experience with multiple manufacturers of Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) Required Skills: •Troubleshoot, start-up, commission and verify proper functionality of multiple brands of VFD’s. •Interface directly with management to run an efficient service department through productive staffing, customer retention, cost controls, achievement of objectives. •Establish and maintain good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business •Maintain high-quality service repairs and minimize callbacks •Keep management and customer informed of job progress and issues •Provide valid options for additional work and service based on established protocols •Prioritize following safety procedures and maintain a constant awareness of personal safety and the safety of others. •Exceptional ability to work independently without direct supervision Qualifications: •Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with multiple manufacturers of Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) •Valid driver’s license required. Ability to lift 50 pounds and work from heights/a ladder •Strong working knowledge of three phase motors and control circuits. •Can read and interpret documents such as electrical and mechanical drawings, safety rules, operations manual, and written directions including reading and understanding PID's, fabrication drawings, and electrical schematics •Possess installation and troubleshooting skills for heating and cooling systems •Demonstrated capacity to prepare inspection and appraisal reports •Team player with good interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
