Hiring: Service Controls Engineer Company: IMA AUTOMATION North America Location: Elgin, IL Job Posted Time: 2026-09-03 14:52:26 Employment Type: Remote Target Skills & Keywords : AutoCAD, CAD, Microsoft Excel, PLC, SCADA About the job Required Skills: •Troubleshoot single and 3 phase AC power circuits (up to 600VAC), DC control circuits (typically 24VDC), PLC I/O cards and motion controllers. •Troubleshoot control systems for cam, servo, and air operated stations, along with test and electrical devices. •Problem-solve, debug software issues related to PLCs, HMIs, vision cameras, robotic systems, database & SCADA systems. •Replace/install and configure electrical components in automated control systems. •Identify and release spare parts for supply chain to purchase. •Research and specify appropriate purchased and preferred components for new designs. •Create/update electrical wiring schematics, flow diagrams, panel layouts, Bill of Materials, organize release packages. •Participate in installations and service calls, interfacing with customers and personnel from other IMA sites. Qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience with automation equipment. •Technical understanding of pharmaceutical / biotechnology unit operations a plus. •Fundamental understanding of Rockwell RS Logix/Studio5000 or Siemens development software, Schematic Capture Software, AutoCAD or Equivalent CAD environments. •Strong experience with Siemens PLC’s. •Epson, Fanuc and Staubli robots. •Strong technical writing, communication and interpersonal skills required. •Demonstrated capacity to travel 25-50% of the time, both domestically and internationally. •Demonstrated ability to work in a cross-functional team environment. •Strong knowledge of computer programs such as Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook and Project. •Strong experience with Allen Bradley, HMI’s and Servo control.
