Required Skills: •Lead and support external contract construction crews performing maintenance and construction activities. •Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company, regulatory, and environmental requirements. •Monitor project progress, quality, and productivity to deliver successful outcomes. •Build strong relationships with contractors, internal stakeholders, and customers. •Help ensure reliable, uninterrupted service through effective planning, oversight, and execution of field operations. •Contribute to infrastructure improvements that support the communities we serve. •Coordinate the daily activities of assigned external contractors performing construction, maintenance and restoration work associated with electric utility civil construction. Work in unison with other National Grid departments to ensure a seamless transition of work. •Monitor job progress, document crew activities and prepare reports. Qualifications: •Knowledge of OSHA, environmental, federal, state, local, and company safety regulations preferred. •Demonstrated capacity to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schematics, contracts, and scope of work documents. •Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify potential issues and develop practical solutions before work begins. •Solid functional working knowledge of construction methods, equipment, materials, and safe work practices, including hazard recognition and mitigation preferred. •Demonstrated capacity to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. •Strong organizational, time management, and recordkeeping skills. •Demonstrated capacity to travel throughout the service territory and work extended hours as needed, including during emergency response and restoration efforts required. •Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets National Grid's Safe Driver Policy required. •Technical, vocational, or military training related to construction, engineering, utilities, or field operations preferred. •National Grid utilizes an assessment that evaluates the job qualifications/characteristics using AI or statistically based scoring.
