Required Skills: •How You'll Make a Difference Day To Day •Build and Maintain Service Architecture: Architect and implement reliable, scalable backend services to support our device management platform, with a heavy focus on backend engineering (~70% of the role). •Power Real-Time Device Orchestration: Own and evolve our asynchronous service communication, configuration distribution, and telemetry pipelines using Kafka to handle high-velocity device state changes. •Optimize Database Performance: Write clean, high-performance database queries to interact directly with our relational databases, ensure maximum query efficiency, speed, and visibility into device inventories. •Leverage Modern Dev Workflows: Lean into AI-assisted development tools to accelerate your workflow, while maintaining a rigorous standard for self-reviewing code so as not to bog down the team’s pipeline. •Drive Infrastructure Improvements: Partner with the infrastructure team to evolve CI/CD pipelines, agent distribution networks, and service deployment patterns. •Mentor and Lead by Example: Lead technical development with knowledge of up-to-date best practices, and guide other engineers through code reviews, architectural discussions, and technical decision-making. •Design for Scalability and Resilience: Build systems that handle massive device fleet growth gracefully and are resilient to failure across distributed global environments.
