Hiring: Senior, Software Engineer - Fulfillment Tech Company: Walmart Global Tech Location: Hoboken, NJ Job Posted Time: 2026-09-13 10:43:32 Target Skills & Keywords : Agile, Azure, CosmosDB, Epic Systems, Event-Driven, Java, Kafka, Microservices, Root Cause Analysis, SQL, Systems Design About the job Experience: •7+ years of software engineering experience (or equivalent depth), preferably in Java Required Skills: •Lead design and implementation of highly available, fault-tolerant, scalable microservices and event-driven systems (Java-based) •Own end-to-end delivery for complex features: design, implementation, testing, rollout, and long-term operability •Set a high bar for operational excellence: telemetry, alerting, incident response, root cause analysis, and prevention •Drive technical direction in your area: architecture decisions, reliability improvements, performance tuning, and tech-debt reduction •Produce high-quality code and raising team quality via PR reviews, design reviews, and engineering best practices •Collaborate deeply with product and business stakeholders to break down ambiguity into executable plans and milestones Qualifications: •Strong experience with microservices, event-driven architecture, and messaging systems (Kafka or similar) •Strong Azure experience (including CosmosDB) •Applied hands-on capability in SQL and NoSQL datastores •Proven production ownership: on-call, diagnostics, performance tuning, and reliability improvements in distributed systems •Strong system design skills and experience operating in fast-paced Agile delivery environments •Supply chain / fulfillment domain knowledge (WMS/WES/FC operations exposure is a plus) •Demonstrated capacity to leverage AI tooling/agents to accelerate development and troubleshooting •A strong ownership mindset—able to independently drive solutions from problem statement to production outcomes •NOTE: Immigration Sponsorship is not available for this position. •Walmart’s culture is a competitive advantage, and it’s fostered by being together.
