Hiring: Senior Project Buyer Company: Mortenson Location: Minneapolis, MN Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 14:04:52 Target Skills & Keywords : CPT, Project Management About the job Experience: •(for Non-Craft & Non-Union Craft working 25+ hours / week) •Medical and prescription drug plans that includes no additional cost vision coverage •401k retirement plan with a generous Mortenson match •Paid time off, holidays, and other paid leaves •Employer paid Life, AD&D, and disability insurance Required Skills: •Purchase items and services at the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity, specification requirements, and other factors •Propose purchase transactions that higher authority approve prior to final action •Arrange returns for unacceptable products to suppliers •Track order status from the time of placing the order until delivery and communicate status to project teams •Facilitate and run meetings internally and externally •Enter purchase agreements and retain contact with suppliers to ensure delivery of material on a timely basis •Enter purchase orders and retain contact with suppliers to ensure delivery of material on a timely basis •Visit job sites or offices annually at a minimum to develop more effective working relationships Qualifications: •Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, construction management, or related discipline or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience •4+ years of procurement experience and/or experience in a similar role •Knowledge of construction processes, equipment, materials, purchasing processes, and procurement procedures within renewable energy or utility-scale construction projects (preferred) •Project Management experience (preferred) •Understanding of the renewable energy construction industry, with wind energy experience strongly preferred •Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to influence stakeholders, lead cross-functional initiatives, and drive results in a fast-paced project environment (preferred) •Negotiating, organizing, planning, verbal, and communication skills •Strong customer service and analytical skills •Active listening skills and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedback Compensation: •$85,300 - $128,000 / year Interested candidates, please apply directly through the job posting on company's career page or try via AI auto apply on this platform.
