Hiring: Senior Product Engineer (Java/Spring Boot) Company: Allstate Location: United States Job Posted Time: 2026-09-16 13:38:18 Employment Type: Contract Target Skills & Keywords : Agile, Git, Gradle, Java, Jenkins, Kafka, Maven, Microservices, OAuth, OWASP, Product Management, Python, REST, RESTful, React, SAML, SQL, Spring Boot, Swagger, npm About the job Experience: •5 or more years of experience (Preferred) Required Skills: •Support the Enterprise Payments organization, which is responsible for ensuring Allstate customers can seamlessly process a wide range of payment solutions. •The internal Allstate job title used for this role is Software Engineer Lead Consultant. •Participate in inceptions and iteration planning meetings, infusing backlogs with technical input working in close partnership with the product manager. •Participates in daily site, cross-site, and product team standups. •Participates in retrospectives, demonstrating and encouraging each participant to provide feedback with empathy. •Partner cross-functionally with team in high-level and low-level component and system designs •Collaborate in performance improvements and tech review meetings •Practices daily paired programming and test-driven development in writing software and building products Qualifications: •5 years or more experience and knowledge in developing REST APIs using Java Spring Boot, including tooling for documentation (Swagger, REST-docs, Open API spec), versioning, service discovery/registration, testing and management; experience using API gateways and REACT is a plus. •Hands on experience and accountability architecting, designing, implementing and delivering large scale distributed systems and/or applications for the cloud, including Micro Services architectures. •Knowledge and experience using distributed version control systems (Git), artifact management systems, build and packaging systems and Jenkins or similar Continuous Integration tools.
