Hiring: Senior Manufacturing Engineer Company: VERO Biotech Location: Atlanta, GA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-16 17:36:34 Target Skills & Keywords : R, SQL About the job Required Skills: •This role works closely with Operations, Quality, R&D, and external suppliers to maintain production readiness, minimize downtime, improve equipment performance, and support the scale-up of manufacturing operations while maintaining compliance with FDA, ISO 13485, GMP, and internal quality system requirements. •Provide hands-on support on the manufacturing floor by independently troubleshooting and resolving equipment, tooling, automation, and process issues affecting production, yield, quality, and throughput. •Diagnose and correct mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, instrumentation, controls, and basic software issues. •Interpret electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams, equipment drawings, and technical documentation to support troubleshooting and equipment development. •Serve as equipment owner for assigned manufacturing systems, including performance monitoring and reliability improvement. •Lead the design, fabrication, integration, commissioning, and implementation of new manufacturing equipment, fixtures, tooling, and automation. •Develop equipment requirements, functional specifications, risk assessments, test plans, and commissioning documentation. •Partner with internal teams and suppliers on equipment design, build, troubleshooting, factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, and equipment handoff. Qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, Industrial, or a related engineering discipline; equivalent experience may be considered. •Five or more years of experience in manufacturing, equipment, automation, controls, or process engineering, preferably in an FDA-regulated medical device, pharmaceutical, or combination product environment. •Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and improving manufacturing equipment in a production environment. •Solid functional working knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical controls, pneumatics, sensors, actuators, instrumentation, and basic PLC/HMI troubleshooting. •Operational familiarity with production databases, data structures, SQL, scripting, or system integrations preferred. •Two or more years of experience providing technical leadership, training, or mentorship to technicians and/or engineers. •Strong technical writing, investigative writing, and documentation skills. •Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technicians, operators, engineers, Quality, Operations, suppliers, and executive leadership. •Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
