This role supports one of DOT's NHTSA initiatives — a modern, cloud-based platform that empowers data sharing, business intelligence, and advanced analytics through AI and machine learning capabilities. As a UI/UX-focused Senior Software Engineer •, you will play a critical role in designing and developing dynamic, responsive, and scalable web applications using modern web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js •. . You’ll collaborate closely with UI/UX designers, back-end engineers, and data professionals to deliver engaging, intuitive, and high-performance user experiences across complex datasets and analytics tools. •Design and develop responsive, scalable, and high-performance web applications using Angular (v8+) or React. •Translate UI/UX wireframes and mockups into high-quality front-end code. •Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure web applications, integrating cloud infrastructure via AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and implementing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions). •Collaborate closely with UI/UX designers, conducting code reviews, mentoring junior developers, and optimizing existing applications for performance and security. Qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. May substitute six (6) years of equivalent professional experience in lieu of a degree. •Proven expertise with Angular, React, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and RESTful APIs. •In-depth knowledge of modular code, routing, lazy loading, and performance tuning. •Operational familiarity with AWS cloud services and serverless computing (e.g., S3, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB). •Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail. •Excellent written and verbal communication skills. •Must be able to pass a U.S. Public Trust background investigation (fingerprinting required).
