Hiring: Senior Equipment Engineer Company: National Grid Location: Northborough, MA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-12 10:28:05 Employment Type: Remote About the job Required Skills: •This position is responsible for supporting the 30+ solar and battery energy storage systems owned and operated by National Grid. •Lead and oversee 35+ MW of grid installed solar and 60+MWh of BESS •Lead and oversee maintaining a comprehensive budget for operation expenses •Lead and oversee substation energizations in a safe manner without impact to customers or the operating system. Qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. •A minimum of 5 or more years of directly related experience in utility engineering and/or utility operations. •Understanding of Company's business, and relevant policies, procedures, and practices. •Knowledge of applicable federal, state, local laws, regulations and the National Electric Codes. •Demonstrated capacity to perform effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining focus and calmness. •Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills involving the ability to work cross-functionally to understand requirements, present alternatives, and recommendations. •Proficient with the use of personal computers including automated tools. •Demonstrated capacity to manage several projects at one time. •Demonstrated capacity to work in energized stations. •Demonstrated capacity to travel outside Company territory.
