Hiring: Senior Engineer, Product Technology Company: Celanese Location: Florence, KY Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 10:15:03 Employment Type: On-site About the job Experience: •3 years of experience in thermoplastics manufacturing, product development, application development, product management, or technical service within engineering polymers with experience in Design of Experiments (DOE). Required Skills: •Product Innovation: Formulate, test, and optimize to develop new product generating technology value (e.g. intellectual property, technical competitive advantage) and business value (e.g. revenue from new products in existing and/or new markets) •Commercialization: Manage new product development (NPD) processes from lab-scale formulation through twin-screw compounding scale-up and customer qualification. •Cross-functional Collaboration: Align technical objectives with business management, manufacturing, sales, quality, regulatory teams and more •Technical Sales Support: Provide deep technical knowledge on material selection and part/mold design to OEMs, tiers, and molders. •The individual will support of business-critical commercial product development, customer support and internal product management as needed. Qualifications: •Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline. •Minimum of 3 years of experience in thermoplastics manufacturing, product development, application development, product management, or technical service within engineering polymers with experience in Design of Experiments (DOE). •In-depth knowledge of polymer formulation, characterization, analytical techniques, and material property testing methodologies. •Demonstrated ability to influence and align objectives across technical, commercial, and operational functions. •Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and customer-facing communication skills. •Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively in cross-functional environments. •Team player and able to work in collaboration with a global technical team. •Ph.D. in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. •Technical expertise with POM polymerization, formulations, and applications. •Knowledge of semi-crystalline thermoplastics, structure-property relationships, and performance optimization.
