Hiring: Senior Electrical Engineer Company: Advantage Technical Location: Houston, TX Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 14:49:03 Employment Type: Hybrid Target Skills & Keywords : AutoCAD, CAD, SolidWorks, Transformers About the job Experience: •5+ years of electrical engineering experience, preferably with battery energy storage systems Required Skills: •Directly influence product safety, system performance, manufacturing execution, commissioning success, and long-term customer reliability. •Build the electrical systems behind reliable hybrid power and energy storage solutions. •Take technical ownership of complex electrical design and integration work across battery energy storage, hybrid energy management, power conversion, controls, and industrial power systems. •This is a hands-on senior individual contributor role for an engineer who can move confidently from requirements and calculations to drawings, factory testing, commissioning, and field issue resolution. •Lead and oversee electrical designs from concept through detailed release, testing, commissioning, and post-deployment support. •Develop system one-line and three-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, cable schedules, grounding plans, and equipment specifications. •Prepare bills of materials, change documentation, and commissioning reports. •Design and integrate AC and DC distribution, protection, batteries, converters, transformers, generators, switchgear, controls, instrumentation, and communications interfaces. Qualifications: •Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar related field; Higher Education is a plus •Proven ability to independently create and review electrical designs, calculations, drawings, specifications, and bills of materials. •Strong knowledge of AC and DC systems, protection, grounding, controls, instrumentation and industrial communications •Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, Solidworks Electrical or comparable CAD tools and standard engineering productivity software. •Clear communication, sound technical judgment, structured problem solving, and dependable follow-through. •Demonstrated capacity to travel occasionally and work safely in office, manufacturing, test, and industrial field environments. •Professional Engineer license in Texas is not required but a plus •Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, UL 508A, UL 9540, IEEE, and related industrial or energy-storage requirements would be an asset. •Power-system modeling, protective-device coordination, arc-flash and coordination studies experience is a plus •Industrial communications experience with Modbus, CAN bus, or Ethernet-based systems. EtherCAT experience would be an asset.
