Required Skills: •Manage a portfolio of 60-80 principal gift prospects and donors capable of making gifts of $100,000+. •Develop and execute customized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for major and principal donors. •Build relationships with ultra-high-net-worth individuals, family offices, philanthropic advisors, community foundations, donor collaboratives, and giving circles. •Serve as the organization's subject matter expert on complex and non-cash gifts, including donor-advised funds (DAFs), charitable trusts, appreciated securities, real estate, retirement assets, and other planned giving vehicles. •Partner with Development leadership to grow the principal gifts pipeline and achieve fundraising goals aligned with the organization's strategic priorities. •Monitor emerging trends in philanthropy and recommend innovative fundraising strategies and donor engagement approaches. •Partner cross-functionally with executive leadership, Finance, Legal, Programs, and Board members to develop compelling funding opportunities and steward transformational gifts. •Supervise and mentor the Middle Giving Officer. Qualifications: •Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred. •Expertise in major, principal, planned, or complex gift fundraising. •Strong knowledge of donor-advised funds, charitable trusts, gifts of appreciated assets, and other sophisticated giving vehicles. •Exceptional relationship-building, communication, and strategic thinking skills. •Passion for the SF SPCA's mission and a commitment to advancing animal welfare.
