Hiring: Senior Director of Community College Collaboration, Strategy and Implementation Company: California State University, Office of the Chancellor Location: Long Beach, CA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 11:27:13 Employment Type: Hybrid Target Skills & Keywords : Change Management, Portfolio Management, Project Management About the job Required Skills: •Under the general direction of the Associate Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs •Serve as the CSU’s senior representative to designated intersegmental community college bodies and statewide task forces. •Advance shared commitments to student access, success, equity and post-secondary attainment across segments. •Represent the CSU in engagements with UC, CCC, AICCU, CDE, the Legislature and state agencies on high-level intersegmental matters. •Provide concise senior briefings, strategic analyses and recommendations to the Chancellor, Vice Chancellors, Trustees and 22 CSU System’s university presidents. •Lead development and continuous refinement of a comprehensive CSU-CCC intersegmental strategy aligned with statewide attainment goals, state intersegmental deliverables and CSU Forward strategic plan. •Identify opportunities for alignment in academic preparation, assessment, general education and major transfer pathways, dual enrollment/early college, online and hybrid education, and student well-being initiatives. •Promote shared, data-informed approaches and evidence-based policy development across systems. Qualifications: •Master’s degree required; doctorate preferred. •Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible leadership experience in higher education administration, preferably within a public university or community college system. •Senior-level experience in academic affairs, enrollment management, student success or related policy domains. •Extensive experience working within and across California’s higher education segments, including significant engagement with the California Community Colleges; experience with multi-campus or system-level work strongly preferred. •Comprehensive expertise in California’s higher education structure, governance and policy environment, including CSU and CCC missions, statutory frameworks and statewide initiatives. •Demonstrated ability to lead senior-level collaboration across autonomous institutions and sectors to advance shared goals. •Strong strategic thinking, systems-level analysis and change management skills. •Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including the ability to brief executives and present complex policy issues to diverse audiences. •Demonstrated capacity to negotiate complex policy and inter-organizational matters and to build and sustain effective partnerships. •Strong project and portfolio management skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple large-scale initiatives and deliver results.
