Hiring: Senior Counsel - General Banking Company: Old National Bank Location: Chicago, IL Job Posted Time: 2026-09-11 15:12:59 Employment Type: Full-time Target Skills & Keywords : Regulatory Compliance, Risk Management About the job Experience: •In-depth knowledge of federal and state banking laws and regulations, including those governing deposit operations, payments and related compliance areas. •Operational familiarity with privacy laws and data protection requirements, including GLBA, CCPA and other state privacy laws and emerging AI and technology regulations. •Prior experience advising on emerging technology initiatives, including responsible use of artificial intelligence and automation in financial services. •Excellent analytical, communication and relationship-building skills. •Demonstrated capacity to effectively communicate legal advice and engage with lines of business consistent with the Bank’s culture and business strategy. Qualifications: •Minimum of 10 - 15 years’ experience practicing law full-time working in a legal department of a medium or large financial institution, or with a major law firm with substantive experience during that time serving financial institutions. •Admitted to practice, and in good standing with the bar of one of the states in our footprint, with preference given to Illinois, Indiana or Minnesota, or qualified to be registered to practice as in-house counsel in the applicable state. •Demonstrated capacity to apply sound legal analysis and practical business judgment to legal matters with solutions-oriented approach that balances business objectives. •Demonstrated capacity to consult with and advise Bank management at all levels. •Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills. •Demonstrated capacity to deliver timely, high quality work product. •Demonstrated capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, client-focused, team environment.
