Required Skills: •Manage a caseload of environmental, products liability, life sciences, toxic tort, professional liability, and general liability claims of moderate to high complexity. •Analyze policy language and coverage issues, including reservation of rights letters, disclaimers, and coverage position recommendations. •Evaluate liability, damages, and exposure to establish and maintain appropriate claim reserves. •Direct and oversee defense counsel, coverage counsel, consultants, and experts as appropriate. •Develop and execute claim handling strategies to drive timely, efficient, and appropriate claim outcomes. •Conduct coverage investigations and assess potential coverage defenses and indemnity obligations. •Participate in mediations, settlement conferences, and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings. •Negotiate settlements within granted authority and present settlement recommendations for higher authority review when required. Qualifications: •Bachelor's degree required; Juris Doctor (JD) or other advanced degree preferred. •Minimum 4-6 years of complex casualty claims handling experience. •Strong knowledge of coverage analysis and interpretation of specialty insurance policies. •Demonstrated capacity to evaluate liability, damages, and claim exposure in moderate to high-severity matters. •Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills. •Strong written communication skills, including the ability to draft coverage letters and claim reports. •Demonstrated capacity to make sound decisions and exercise independent judgment within designated authority levels. •Professional designations such as CPCU, AIC, SCLA, or equivalent are a plus. •Demonstrated capacity to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. •Proficiency with claims management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
