Hiring: Senior Accountant - Remote, Minneapolis, MN preferred Company: UnitedHealthcare Location: Minneapolis, MN Job Posted Time: 2026-09-16 16:15:21 Employment Type: Full-time Target Skills & Keywords : Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, SQL About the job Experience: •1+ years of professional accounting experience Required Skills: •Research and investigate project data to confirm it aligns to accounting practices •Maintain general ledger accounts and related activities for the production of financial statements and reports •Reconcile, analyze and review general ledger accounts in preparation for month end close •Prepare journal entries and reviews accounting classifications, in accordance with generally-accepted accounting principles •Prepare documentation in support of external and internal audits •Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis and investigate issues providing explanations and interpretation •Analyze and prepare financial statements, including balance sheets and statements of financial position •Assist with or lead the month end quarterly end close process for assigned businesses or groups Qualifications: •Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience •Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, MIS or equivalent •Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and financial statements •Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint •Beginner to intermediate proficiency with SQL or similar languages •Proven ability to assess and interpret customer needs and requirements •Proven ability to identify solutions to non-standard requests and problems •Proven ability to solve moderately complex problems and/or conducts moderately complex analyses •All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy •This will be posted for a minimum of 2 business days or until a sufficient candidate pool has been collected.
