Required Skills: •Provides safety and security services, protecting customers, employees, and property by enforcing the laws of the State of California and the policies of Antelope Valley Hospital under the direction of lead officers, supervisors, and the Director of Safety and Security. •Actively participates in and implements the security management program •Monitors hospital CCTV system, alarm systems, and communication equipment, dispatching staff as needed •Implements hospital access control procedures at all hospital entrances •Responds to emergency calls, making initial assessments of situations using tact, diplomacy, and judgment •Resolves violent and potentially violent situations •Intervenes with individuals attempting to impose physical harm to themselves or who are posing a threat to others or to hospital property •Provides security and protection to Hospital patients, visitors, employees and customers by patrolling areas Qualifications: •Basic knowledge of safety & security. •Basic knowledge of security monitoring. •Knowledge of basic reporting skills. •High School Diploma or equivalent preferred •Possession of a valid California driver’s license •Nonviolent Crisis Intervention 8- hour course from the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) within 90 days of hire and recertification annually.
