Hiring: Security Associate Company: Markel Location: Richmond, VA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 11:27:01 Employment Type: Full-time Target Skills & Keywords : Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office About the job Experience: •Minimum of 10 years of previous Law Enforcement/Public Safety and/or Corporate Security •Excellent written and oral communication skills •Strong organization and time management skills •Strong working knowledge of BRIVO ACS and EagleEye VMS is a must •Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word) Required Skills: •Oversees and provides any needed assistance to associates, customers, and visitors within departmental guidelines and maintains positive contact between internal and external customers. •Accountable for maintaining confidential information and ensuring all team members do the same. •Proactively manage the work processes of the Security Desk to ensure compliance with internal & departmental policies for the Security & Safety environment at the campus. •Lead and oversee investigating and writing reports on accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, safety and fire hazards, and/or other security-related issues. •Maintain files (both electronic and paper documents) and route incoming emails and documents according to department guidelines. Stay abreast of incoming work and understand the sequence of work to be produced to complete all work according to service standards and guidelines. •Recognizes deficiencies and recommends improvements or enhancements to existing processes for greater efficiencies within the department.
