Hiring: Seamstress Company: Uniform Gear Inc Location: Philadelphia, PA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 12:45:27 Employment Type: On-site About the job Experience: •1-2 years of industrial sewing experience •1-2 years of hemming experience •2 years of industrial sewing experience •2 years of hemming experience Required Skills: •The alterations department completes patchwork, hemming, tapering, and other customizations to our customers’ clothing. We operate Monday-Saturday between 9am-5pm. •Alters, repairs, or fits garments •Fits garments on customers to determine required alterations •Sews garments, using needles and thread, and sewing machines. •Measures parts, such as sleeves or pant legs, and marks or pin-folds alteration lines. •Takes up or lets down hems to shorten or lengthen garment parts. •Removes stitches from garments to be altered, using rippers or razor blades. •Makes garment style changes, such as tapering pant legs. Qualifications: •Must be able to stand or sit for an entire shift •Must be able to lift 30-pound boxes •Climbing a small ladder, bending, reaching, squatting •Must be able to read and comprehend written/verbal orders •Must be able to communicate efficiently in English •Must be capable of only taking one meal period per day •Must be able to work between the hours of 9 am-5pm Monday-Saturday •Additional duties can be assigned.
