With 40+ international locations and products sold in more than 125 different countries, Samtec’s global presence enables its unmatched customer service. •This position is located on-site in New Albany IN* •SAFETY SPECIALIST •Summary/Objective: •Assist the Corporate Safety Manager with all safety and environmental initiatives. Offer advice and technical support across various departments to ensure operations are safe, healthy, and environmentally sustainable, adhering to local and international regulations, procedures, and standards, and contribute to the company’s overall success. •Essential Functions/ Responsibilities •Assist in creating and implementing safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Update safety policies in accordance with regulatory changes and company objectives. •Perform regular inspections and audits of the workplace to identify potential hazards. •Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations and company policies. •Coordinate safety and environmental training with the Learning & Development department to ensure associates are trained in proper safety practices and emergency procedures. •Investigate workplace accidents, injuries, or near misses to determine root causes. •Ensure all safety documentation is up to date, including but not limited to safety incidents, inspections, audits, and training. •Maintain safety and environmental metrics. •Conduct regular emergency drills to ensure preparedness.
